Responsibilities

  • This position is based out of our Poplar Creek AB location, with travel to our site locations and responsible for day-to-day preventative maintenance of our equipment fleet.
  • Preventative maintenance of a variety of equipment including but not limited to, Excavators, Dozers, Rock Trucks, Heavy Haulers, Graders, and Loaders.
  • Equipment inspections
  • Oil and filter changes
  • Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies.
  • Showcase your exceptional judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner that contributes toward a positive and productive worksite. Also, can work well with others, and independently. In addition, can follow direction from foreman and field management
  • Notifying the Foreman or Supervisor of any equipment deficiencies.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of one year of experience working on or around heavy-duty equipment is an asset
  • Previous experience in heavy duty or automotive mechanics is an asset.

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid, clean class 1 or 3 with air
  • A clean 3-year drivers abstract is required
  • Strength and stamina for working with heavy equipment and in cramped or awkward positions
  • Able to repetitively and safely lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSTS-09/ OSSA Regional or BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive or Awareness, Bear Awareness, and other site specific tickets at your own cost.
  • Provide your own steel toed 6" lace up boots (CSA Approved)
  • Alcohol, Drug and fit to work testing is a pre-employment requirement.
  • Willing to either Drive in/ Drive out, or Fly in/ Fly out based on the projects travel logistics 

 

Working Conditions:

  • Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job.
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to work day or night shifts.
